Airboard® is the registered trademark for a winter sports product developed by the Swiss Joe Steiner in the 90s. Manufactured from high-quality plastic-coated textiles, Airboard® is a light and extremely durable snow glide, which is also known as the bodyboard for snow. In 2010, Airboard® expanded its range with inflatable SUPs (stand up paddles).

Since 2001, Fun-Care has produced and sold more than 150,000 bodyboards worldwide, including about 30,000 in Switzerland. The steadily growing number of "airboarders" is looking for attractive slopes, which a winter sports region with a new airboard offer can clearly notice.
However, it is not only the increasing turnover in the rental or sale of day tickets to airboarders that inspires the enthusiasm, it is also the low number of accidents that may surprise you. Even the SKUS (Swiss Commission for Accident Prevention on Snow Sport Downhill Skiing) considers Airboard to be less dangerous than conventional sledges. This statement is clearly underlined by the statistics of the providers.
In times when the growth rates of skiers and snowboarders are stagnating, it makes sense to make room for a new sport and customers than to compete for existing skiers and snowboarders.
In this context, the short learning phase for airboarding is also very interesting. The beginner's sense of achievement sets in at the beginning and the dynamics of this sport ensures that people for which skis and snowboard is not an option due to the the long and expensive learning phase can suddenly discover an affordable winter sport.

In Europe, 8 out of 10 SUPs are inflatable products, because they have the advantage that they easy to transport and store. As international sales are also growing rapidly, Airboard® is keen to be able to repair and recycle non-used products locally.
